Magic Mondays Pickup Lacrosse

Summer pick-up lacrosse is back! Play short, high intensity small sided, cross-field games against players from all over.

Small-sided games means more touches, more decisions, and faster improvement. We provide the venue -- you decide what to work on!

Organize with friends to make teams of up to six players, or join other players on a house team. Goalies welcome!

Compete with other teams on a leaderboard, and with other players for prizes in specific skills competitions, including:

  • Fastest shot
  • Longest pass
  • Queens of the Field

Rising freshman, graduated seniors, and high school players of all skill levels are welcome.

NOTE: A USA Lacrosse membership is required.

Registration fee is $90 for 9 sessions, or pay the drop-in pricing of $15 per session (two session minimum). Reversible practice jersey included!

Formats

Leaderboard Games

Leaderboard games will be played on three small fields, arranged 'crossways' on the main field. This makes a smaller space of about 60x30 yards.

Games will start with a competitive ground ball, then continue with goalie clears after goals or saves (similar to 7v7 formats). Score will be kept for the leaderboard.

Games will play for a maximum of 8 minutes, with a new game starting every 10 minutes.

There will be no substitutions during games -- they're too short!

Skill Competitions

Skill competitions run before leaderboard games and will include:

  • Longest pass, i.e., an accurate pass to another player over distance.
  • Fastest shot, measured with a radar gun.

Queens of the Field

Queens of the Field is series of short games played around single cages. Winning teams advance clockwise to the "top" cage; losing teams move anti-clockwise to the "bottom" cage.

When the final game is played, who will be the Queens of the Field?

 

Schedule

We have nine Magic Mondays scheduled.

  • Skill competitions will run each week.
  • Leaderboard games will run every week except weeks 5 and 9.
  • The leaderboard will be restarted in weeks 2 and 6.
  • Leaderboard winners will be announced in weeks 5 and 9.
  • Queens of the Field will run in weeks 5 and 9.

We expect to run at least 18 games per day across the three small fields. Fun!

Location and Times

Magic Mondays will run each Monday evening starting June 2 and ending on July 28.

Warmups start at 7:30PM.
